Legal Plates...
The following information applies to road legal plates, all other styles and formats can be ordered, but can not be used on the road.
All registration marks must be displayed in accordance with The Road Vehicles Regulations 2001 (obtainable from Her Majesty's Stationery Office).
Brief rules with regard to the display of number plates are as follows:
- The Registration Mark must be owned to display the related acrylic number plate on your vehicle.
- Lettering should be black on a white plate at the front and a yellow at the rear.
- Number plates should be easy to read and conform with the British Standard.
- Lettering and spacing must be of a set size.

You must not alter, rearrange or misrepresent the letters or numbers
- Current legal flags for display on number plates are: the Euro, Union Jack, St Georges Flag, Scottish Flag and the Welsh flag along with the associated representative terms.
